This year Finland is celebrating 100 years of independence. To honor the anniversary we publish a series of photos from the Port of Turku archives themed Throwback Thursday. In the early 1960s, new warehouses were quickly built in the Linnanaukko and West harbour areas. The floor area grew to 14,246 square meters in five years. The warehouse 122 was built using the adhesive bar technology in 1964. At the end of the 1960s the total area covered by warehouses was over six hectares.
