The EU Commission’s ISPS inspection
The EU Commission’s ISPS inspection was carried out in Turku in October 2021. The inspection was carried out in two groups, one of which inspected the ISPS documentation of the port, as well as the fences, gates and signs in the port area. Another inspection team focused on the ships at berth in the port at that time and inspected their documents. The EU Commission’s inspection lasted four days and focused on three of the port’s five port facilities.
“An in-depth review of the ISPS code will give us a better starting point for building a new terminal and help avoid pitfalls in the hectic and ever-changing construction phase. The inspection report contained a few findings, but in general, the Port of Turku passed the inspection well,” says Security Manager Pauliina Roti.
