The Tall Ships Races Turku 2024 event will affect traffic also in the Turku harbour area

NEWS - TSR affects traffic arrangements

The Tall Ships Races Turku 2024 event will be held in Turku from Thursday to Sunday, July 18-21, 2024. During this time, the sailing ship event is expected to bring hundreds of thousands of visitors to the River Auras riverside streets. This international public event, with its large number of visitors, will cause changes to traffic arrangements in the area from July 15-22.

The event area on the west bank extends from Martinsilta Bridge to the Turku Castle area, and on the east bank from the Telakkaranta shipyard area to the Queen Margaret pier area. The event area at the lower reaches of the river Aura will open to the public already on Tuesday, July 16. Restaurant and sales activities in the area will begin on the same day.

Construction of the event area will start on Wednesday, July 10, and the event will be dismantled by Monday, July 22 at the latest. Comprehensive additional information can be found on the event’s website: https://tallshipsturku.fi/en/event-information/

The event will also cause changes to public transportation. Föli lines 1 and 1B, which travel to the harbor, will run every few minutes on the west side of the river from Thursday to Sunday, July 18-21. The lines will use an alternate route via Linnankatu–Vallihaudankatu–Satamakatu and vice versa. Additionally, some bus stops located within the event area will be out of service. More information about the disruptions and changes to Föli services during the event can be found on the Föli website under Disruptions and Changes in Traffic: https://www.foli.fi/en
