We donated our Christmas gift funds to where the peace of Christmas is not heard
We would like to thank all our customers, partners, and stakeholders who have been part of our journey this year. The year has been full of significant events and achievements that have strengthened the role and development of the port.
During the past year, we have responsibly advanced our operations in both freight and passenger traffic, not forgetting our warehousing business. In environmental matters, we have welcomed the start of the fourth action period of the Baltic Sea Challenge with interest and transitioned to even greener practices, for example, with our new electric work machines. The cooperation agreement we signed with the Ports of Stockholm and Viking Line regarding the green maritime transport corridor also promotes sustainable development and reduces emissions.
During the year, a new, green freight corridor opened between Turku and Stockholm, improving the environmental friendliness of the route and offering new opportunities. New opportunities also arose in our Ferry Terminal Turku project with the building permit granted for the passenger terminal.
We want to be part of building a better future not only in our economic area but also globally.
This Christmas, we have decided to donate our Christmas gift funds to the children of Ukraine through Unicef. Unicef is a global organization that works for the rights and well-being of children, providing emergency aid, healthcare, and education to children in need around the world.
The crisis in Ukraine has affected millions of children who have had to flee their homes and live in uncertainty. Unicef helps these children by providing clean water, food, medicine, and psychosocial support. Additionally, Unicef supports children’s education and safety so that they can continue learning and live as normal a life as possible amidst the crisis.
We hope that our customers, partners, and stakeholders will also participate in supporting those in need. We wish you all warmth and joy this Christmas and success in the coming year.
