Ferry Terminal Turku media meeting provided a comprehensive update and announced the artist selection
On Wednesday, March 12th, we organized a media meeting for the Ferry Terminal Turku project, where the media was given a comprehensive update on the project. The event presented the status and upcoming phases of the project, which aim to develop passenger harbour into a modern and efficient maritime transport hub.
The event also announced the selection of the future artist for the joint terminal’s art. The chosen artist is Hans-Christian Berg, who will create a permanent artwork for Otkantti Square next to the new joint terminal. The upcoming artwork is expected to reflect the themes of the Linnanniemi art program, such as maritime elements, internationality, history, and ecological sustainability.
At the end of the media meeting, participants had the opportunity to visit the ongoing construction sites of the project, including the terminal and the S1 pier. The visit provided the media with a chance to see the progress of the project and the changes already made in the port area.
